Support Our Troops
Saw this on a photowalk and thought it was excellent food for thought. It might be a bit risky to represent your business with it, but kudos to you Sun & Stars Real Estate.
Empty Carousel
I've never been one for carousel rides and apparently nobody else is either.
Fence Friday
flickr was having a "Fence Friday" thing going on, so I finally had an excuse to post this random photo of a wrought iron fence.
Beach Cruisin’
Saw this young lady taking her beach cruiser for a spin and it made for a cool photo.
Oregon Cheer
I wonder if they were this cheery the whole parade route? We happened to be at the very-very beginning.
LA Fitted
The weather isn't permitting shooting outdoors so I busted out the old kicks again.
Gas Station Shootout
Just a few months back, I was sitting in my apartment when the sound of multiple police sirens and a helicopter circling overhead caught my interest. Because I don't live in the greatest area, I assumed this was a police raid, due to some previous occurrences at our complex. I decided to peak out the window to see if my suspicions were right, when I noticed a female La Habra Police Department officer with her gun drawn, bracing herself behind a squad car next to a Orange County Sheriff deputy who also had his gun drawn. I quickly grabbed my camera and started snapping away, hoping I was witnessing something crazy or maybe a new episode of COPS. Once the neighbors started pouring out of the complex to see what all the commotion was about, I ventured outside and walked to the gas station for some better photos.
When I arrived, there were 7 LHPD squad cars, 2 OCSD squad cars, and 1 LHPD motorcycle all with guns drawn aiming at a +2000 Nissan Altima. Inside the car were four "kids", 1 male and 3 females all looking well under 18 years of age. They eventually stepped out of the car, only to be wielding wine coolers and school books! REALLY ORANGE COUNTY, 9 CARS, 1 BIKE AND A GHETTOBIRD, REALLY?!?!?! My guess was they were just out joy riding Moms car, she noticed it was missing and called the Cops. But who hasn't done that? C'mon now...
I tried getting closer to the action, but a male officer approached me and stated that I was not allowed to take photos of the event and I should leave. So I mistakenly did! Only to find out that even as a photographer with a cheap point-and-shoot, I had every right to take those photos!
We have rights as photographers, do you know what they are?
Typing Parrotlet
After re-editing this in Lightroom2 I was able to "rescue" this photo from the trashcan.
Ms. Amilli loves walking on the keyboard to hear the keys click.
